Driver’s license front and back on one page

Landlords, employers, car rentals and insurers often ask for a copy of both sides of your license. Snap each side with your phone; this tool straightens them, sizes them to the real card (3.370 × 2.125 in) and puts both on one Letter or A4 page. Your license stays on your device.

Tip: drag the four dots onto the four corners of the card. The tool straightens it into a flat, true-size card. Scans that are already cropped can be left as they are.

How to copy both sides of a driver’s license onto one page

  1. Photograph the front on a dark surface, phone held flat above it, flash off.
  2. Drag the four dots onto the license corners; the tool straightens it to 3.370 × 2.125 in.
  3. Photograph the back, the side with the barcode, and mark its corners the same way.
  4. Pick US Letter or A4, colour or greyscale, one copy or a full sheet.
  5. Print at “Actual size” so the copy matches the real card, or download the JPG for an upload form.

Who asks for a copy of both sides

The back matters because it carries the PDF417 barcode that many systems scan, plus endorsements and restrictions.

US and Canada3.370 × 2.125 in (85.6 × 54 mm), per the AAMVA card design standard, which follows ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1
UK, EU and most other countriesPhotocard licences: the same ID-1 size
Vertical licensesSome states issue under-21 licenses in portrait format. Mark the corners as usual: the tool detects portrait cards and keeps them upright.

Tips for a sharp, readable copy

No upload. Your license is processed in your browser only. If you are sending a copy by email, send it only to the organisation that asked for it, and consider writing the purpose on the copy.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a driver’s license?

US and Canadian licenses follow the AAMVA card design standard, which uses the ID-1 size: 3.370 × 2.125 in (85.6 × 54 mm). UK and EU photocard licences use the same size.

How do I print it at the right size?

Open the PDF and print with “Actual size” or “100%” scaling. “Fit to page” shrinks it.

The hologram makes glare on my photo. What can I do?

Tilt the card slightly away from the light, or switch off the flash and photograph near a window. Glare on a hologram is normal; make sure the text and photo are readable.

Can I add a second card, like a state ID?

Make one page per card. If you need several copies of the same license, choose “Fill the page” under Copies.

Should I hide part of my license number?

Only if the person asking allows it. Some places accept a partly covered copy; others need it in full. Ask before you send it.
