Multiple PDF pages per sheet

Save paper and ink by printing several pages of a PDF on each sheet: lecture slides 6 to a page, notes 2 to a page, a whole booklet 4 to a page. The new PDF keeps text sharp, picks the best sheet direction automatically, and can order pages right to left for Urdu and Arabic. Your file never leaves your device.

Text stays sharp because pages are placed as vectors, not images. Print at 100% / Actual size.

How to print several PDF pages on one sheet

  1. Choose your PDF: slides, lecture notes, a handout or an e-book.
  2. Pick how many pages per sheet: 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 16.
  3. Choose the paper and page order. The sheet direction is chosen automatically so pages are as large as possible.
  4. Download and print at 100%. Print on both sides to halve the paper again.

Which layout for what

Pages per sheetEach A4/Letter page printed atGood for
2about 70%Reading notes, articles, contracts to review
4about 50%Slides with text, study notes
6about 35%Lecture slides, revision handouts
8 or 9about 33–35%Slide overviews, storyboards
16about 25%Thumbnails, contact sheets, checking a whole document

Slide decks are landscape, so they fit better: 6 slides on a portrait A4 sheet print noticeably larger than 6 portrait pages would.

Paper saved

A 120-slide course printed one slide per page uses 120 sheets. At 6 per sheet it uses 20, and printed on both sides just 10. The PDF is also much smaller to email or upload than a scan of the printout.

Right-to-left documents

For Urdu and Arabic material choose Across, right to left: page 1 sits at the top right of each sheet and pages continue leftwards, the way the document is read. To make a folded booklet instead, use the PDF booklet maker.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just use “pages per sheet” in the print dialog?

You can, but the setting differs between printers and apps, isn’t saved with the file and can’t be shared. This tool makes a new PDF you can print anywhere, send to a print shop or email.

Will the text be readable?

2 per sheet prints each A4 or Letter page at about 70%, which is comfortable to read. 4 per sheet is about 50%, fine for slides and most notes. 8 and 16 per sheet suit slides and thumbnails.

How many sheets will I save?

Divide your page count by the pages per sheet: a 60-slide deck needs 10 sheets at 6 per sheet instead of 60, and only 5 if you also print on both sides.

Can pages go right to left?

Yes. Choose “Across, right to left” for Urdu or Arabic documents, so the first page sits at the top right.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The new PDF is assembled in your browser.
