How to print passport size photos on A4

  1. Take a clear photo against a plain white or light background, facing the camera, with even light.
  2. Position it in the 35 × 45 mm frame so the face fills the dashed oval.
  3. Choose how many: fill the sheet (30 photos) or just 4, 6, 8 or 12.
  4. Download the PDF and print on A4 photo paper at Actual size, or take the file to any photocopy or print shop.

Where you’ll need passport size photos

Most school and university admission forms, board exam registrations, job applications, bank account opening, SIM registration, driving licence and domicile forms ask for one to six passport-size photos, often with your name written on the back. Printing a full sheet once means you always have spares.

Frequently asked questions

How many passport size photos fit on A4?

With 2 mm spacing: 30 photos of 35 × 45 mm (5 across, 6 down). With no spacing: 36 (6 × 6).

What size is a passport size photo in Pakistan and India?

The usual passport-size photo is 35 × 45 mm (3.5 × 4.5 cm). Some forms ask for other sizes; choose Custom and enter the size the form states.

Should I print on plain paper or photo paper?

Photo paper looks much better and is often expected for forms. Glossy or matte A4 photo paper works in most inkjet printers; plain paper is fine for drafts.

Does it check that my photo meets passport rules?

No. It crops and lays out your photo at the exact size; it doesn’t check the background, expression, glasses or lighting. Read your country’s official photo rules, and if in doubt ask the passport office or a photo studio.
