1Guest names

Modern and Classic lettering keep accents (é, ñ, ü). Script lettering prints them as plain letters (é → e).

Print on card stock (200–250 g/m²) at 100%. Cut on the dashed outline, score and fold along the faint middle line.

How to make place cards with names

  1. Paste your guest list, one name per line. Copy the name column from a spreadsheet or RSVP list; blank lines are skipped.
  2. Choose the size and lettering: elegant script for weddings, or modern/classic capitals for dinners and conferences.
  3. Add a second line if you like, such as “Table 4”, the couple’s names or the date, plus a border and colour.
  4. Download and print on card stock at 100% scale (turn off “fit to page”).
  5. Cut, score and fold: cut on the outline, score along the middle line with a ruler and the back of a knife, then fold into a tent.

Why one half is printed upside down

A tent card shows two faces. With “Name on both sides” ticked, the upper half carries the name rotated by 180°, so once folded the back reads the right way up and people across the table can see who sits where. Untick it for a blank back you can write a note on.

Tips

Modern and Classic lettering print Western European accents (é, ñ, ü and so on); the handwritten script prints plain letters, so “Élise” becomes “Elise”. Non-Latin scripts are not supported yet.

Frequently asked questions

How do I print place cards with names?

Paste the guest list (one name per line), pick the card size, lettering, border and colour, and download the PDF. Every card already has its name, so there’s no typing or mail merge.

What size are place cards?

The standard tent card is 3.5 × 2 inches when folded (3.5 × 4 in flat). A larger 4 × 3 in card suits long names or a second line like a table number.

What paper should I use?

Card stock of about 200–250 g/m² (65–80 lb cover) stands up well. Print at 100%, cut on the dashed outline and score the fold line with a ruler and a blunt knife before folding.

Why is one half upside down?

When the card is folded into a tent, the upside-down half becomes the back and reads the right way up, so guests across the table can see the name too. Untick “Name on both sides” for a plain back.

Can I add a table number or date?

Yes, the optional second line is printed on every card, for example “Table 4” or the event date.
